The plain-English terms for buying and using TackNote.
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Keepers Code, LLC, doing business as TackNote ("we," "us," or "our") covering your use of TackNote (the "app"). By downloading, installing, or using TackNote, or by buying a license, you agree to these Terms and to our End User License Agreement (the "EULA"). If you don't agree, please don't use TackNote.
A one-time purchase of $24.99 USD grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use TackNote on up to three (3) computers, Mac or Windows, that you own or control. The full terms of that license are set out in the EULA.
TackNote includes a 7-day free trial — no card required. After the trial, a license is required to keep creating new notes. Your existing notes remain readable whether or not you buy a license.
Purchases are processed by Stripe, which handles payment and calculates and collects any applicable sales tax and VAT.
Refunds and cancellations. Because we offer a free 7-day trial with full access to the app, all purchases are final and non-refundable. By completing a purchase, you acknowledge that you had the opportunity to evaluate TackNote during the trial period. License keys issued for completed purchases are non-returnable.
EU and UK customers. By purchasing, you request and agree to immediate access to the digital product, and you expressly acknowledge that you therefore lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal or cancellation.
If TackNote isn't working properly for you, we still want to hear about it. Email support@tacknote.app and we'll help you get it working.
If you bought TackNote through a third-party marketplace, that marketplace's own terms govern your purchase, billing, and any refunds, not this section.
When using TackNote, you agree not to:
We may release updates to TackNote and may change features or these Terms from time to time. Where it's practical, we'll note material changes. Your continued use of TackNote after changes take effect means you accept them.
TackNote is provided "AS IS" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to TackNote or these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for TackNote. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Every note is sealed with AES-256 encryption the moment you write it — the key lives in your Mac’s Keychain, never on a server. Switch on iCloud sync and your notes are encrypted on your Mac before they travel through your own iCloud. Apple holds the keys to that sync unless you turn on Apple’s Advanced Data Protection, which makes it end-to-end encrypted and readable only on your devices. No accounts, no trackers, no servers we control. Not even we can read your notes.
