One Week In

A week ago I shipped TackNote. It came out of a real moment: a sticky note I needed to not lose, that of course got buried under every open window. I'd been using it myself for a while, but shipping a thing to other people is different from using it yourself. You find out fast what actually matters.

So here's an honest update on the first week.

What I fixed

Most of week one was the unglamorous stuff that makes software trustworthy:

• Updates can't bite you anymore. TackNote takes a backup before every update and keeps the previous version around, so if one ever feels off, you roll back in a click. Your notes are never touched.
• Automatic backups on a schedule, on top of that pre-update mirror.
• A crash won't cost you anything. If TackNote ever closes unexpectedly, the next launch offers to send a quick report (you see exactly what's sent, never your note contents) and if it happened right after an update, to roll back.
• A pile of smaller things, text wrapping, placement across multiple monitors, polish.

What I added

• In-app feedback. Hit ⌘⇧F from anywhere and tell me what's working or what's broken. I read every one. It's not a form, it's literally my inbox.
• An affiliate program. If TackNote earns a place in your day, share it and earn 25% on every sale.
• Verified reviews. Buyers can leave a review that carries a "Verified Purchase" badge, so what you read is real.

One thing I want to be straight about

Here's how the trial works. TackNote is free for 7 days, no card. After that, your notes are always yours to read, they don't disappear, they stay anchored, and you can always open and copy them. A license ($24.99, once, no subscription) is what unlocks creating new notes and exporting them. I'd rather be clear about that than surprise anyone.

What's next

The big one is an iPhone companion, so your notes travel with you. After that, deeper hooks into the apps people keep asking for, VS Code and Final Cut are near the top. The roadmap is public, and it moves based on what you tell me.
